The Chrysler Building

Completed in 1930, the Chrysler Building was briefly the tallest building in Manhattan until the Empire State Building surpassed it the following year. But even if it’s no longer the tallest, it’s arguably one of the most unique buildings in Manhattan. Built in the art deco style, it takes its design inspiration from hood ornaments, radiator caps, and other ornamentation once used on Chrysler automobiles.

The steel eagles that Jack and Euri sit atop as they read the Unofficial Guide to the Underworld jut out from the corners of the building’s 61st floor (you can just see them above). It's a good thing too that Jack and Euri can fly--the Chrysler Building is 1,047 feet from top to ground.
